Inauguration of Open air Orchidarium at Lalbagh
Department of Horticulture, Government of Karnataka has requested The Orchid Society of Karnataka to assist them to develop an open orchidarium in Lalbagh Botanical Gardens. In that connection, TOSKAR has prepared a blue print for the area to be developed in a phased manner and submitted to the Department for necessary action.
On 01.01.2014, the open air Orchidarium was inaugurated by Justice Nagamohan Das of High Court of Karnataka. It was attended by Director of Horticulture and other officials, members of Lalbagh Development Committee, Executive Committee members and Dr. S. N. Hegde of TOSKAR. During the programme, objectives and also route map for development of the proposed orchidarium was explained to the audience by President of TOSKAR.
